Openning of the library of the Ukrainian-Polish Center
The event was attended by the Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Poland in Kharkiv JanZdanovsky, director of the Polish Institute in Kiev, advisor-envoy of the Embassy of Poland in Ukraine Eva Figel, deputy director of Polish institute in Kiev, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Poland in Ukraine Katarzyna Venzovska, president of the International Association of Journalists Henry Czeslaw Koschelny, secretaries of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Oleksandr Buhtaty and Sergey Omelchuk, head of the Polish House in Kharkov Stanislav Ellis, head of the Association of Regional Press in Kharkiv region, editor of "Horizons of Izyumschyna"( Obrii Izumschyny) Constantine Grigorenko, vice-rector Zarif Nazyrov, director of Ukrainian-Polish Academic Center Tatiana Bitkova, and the representatives the departments, other higher educational institutions, secondary schools of the city and region, in which Polish language is taught.
The library was created with the support of Consulate General of Poland in Kharkiv and Polish House in Kharkiv. Books collection was formed due to polish universities and private libraries.
Now the Center’s library has about 1 000 items, the most of which are already registered in the general e-catalogue of the Central Scientific Library of the university, which has the status of a national treasure.
